I wanted to get these cards posted to my Blog today.  Time was not on my side  to write the details on how I made the card.   Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the card and what I used to make it.

Birthday Wishes

I have a childhood friend that I keep in touch with on special occasions.  Our fathers’ were childhood friends too.  And they were in the Army together.  When they married our Mothers’ became good friends.  Oh the fun we had growing up!   Oh she married a guy from my old neighborhood (small world).  They live in Delaware now and are loving it!

Side note:  She is exactly one week older than me.

I am going to spare you of all the details on how I made the card.  But feel free to ask me questions about the card and what I used to make it.  Lets just say that all elements were made from dies.  No stamping involved except for the sentiment inside.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are so hard to make for me.  And we needed one for a good friend from North Carolina who has been farming land on Chuck’s Family property.

I tried everything I knew when taking the photo to reduce as much glare as possible.

I guess it would have been easier if I didn’t use gold foil cardstock and gold washi tape :))

I belong to Spellbinder’s Small Die of the Month Club.  And for the month of February I received 5 border dies.  I cut four borders from one of the dies out of gold cardstock.  And laid  them evenly spaced on the card front.

I tried something new for me and cut a rectangle out of the front of the card.  Then I cut the “With Deepest Sympathy” Die from  and placed it on the inside of the card.  I added a strip of gold washi tape on each side of the die since it was a little smaller than the rectangle die I used.  The “With Deepest Sympathy” die was cut from a very light pearlized gold cardstock.

The photo does not do it justice but I hope you can imagine all the gold shades used.

Birthday Card

This is the birthday card I made for my husband.  It gets harder and harder for me to come up with a masculine design.  I tried something different where the design could be for both masculine and feminine depending on the choice of colors.

The background, vine panel, and birds were all water colored.  I used distress inks on the background.  And Prima metallic inks on the vine panel and birds.

I love the bird dies because they are dimensional.

The dies used came from  The Birthday sentiment was cut out using Simply Defined Reflections Adhesive Sheets in Matte Gold.

Side note:  I didn’t notice how crooked the panel is on one side until I saw the photo.  Oh these old eyes, lol.

Happy Valentine’s

Below are two cards I created for my youngest Grandsons and Husband.    I made two of the first card for both Grandsons.  I kept it simple and easy.  All elements, Embossing folder, Sentiment stamp and Cardstock used are from my stash.

I was inspired by Penny Ward of Penny Ward when she shared this card:

Valentines-Penny Ward

The second card was created for my Husband using my new dies from Spellbinder’s Small Die of the Month Club (Heart and Arrow).   The Sentiment stamp, Cardstock,  and small Heart punches used are from my stash.

Happy 11th Birthday

I made this card for my Grandson who will be 11 yrs. old very soon.  No matter how many times I make masculine cards I still find it to be very challenging.

I used black cardstock for the base of the card.

The front panel is made out of silver foil cardstock.  I used a Tim Holtz’s Texture Fades embossing folder called Riveted Metal.  The Gears Frame and Gears were cut from black foil cardstock. And the Gears Frame and gears were cut from a new die bought from  The Happy Birthday sentiment die is from Paper Smooches (Birthday Words).

The inside of the card I used silver foil cardstock for all the tools.  A couple of the handles on the tools was cut from real wood paper. The tool box was also cut from real wood paper and then colored with colored pencils for dimension.

The tool box die is from the Frantic Stamper Inc. The tools were cut from two different dies: Handy Man Tools (Memory Box) and some from dies purchased from

I used glitter card stock for the balloons and the number 11.  The balloon strings were cut from silver foil.

I was having so much fun adding the tools and balloons to the inside of the card that I ran out of room for a sentiment and signatures.  So I used the back of the card to add more balloons to hold a sentiment, signatures and the date.  This is a first for me and not sure if I like it but I am sure Hunter will love it!
